William "Bill" McCoig

WILLIAM M.”BILL” McCOIG, age 79 of Dandridge, TN passed away Sunday morning, August 13, 2017 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Center. He was born, August 24, 1937 the son of the late Joe and Maude McCoig and was preceded in death by his son, David “Mickey” McCoig; step-father who raised him, Deloss Lewis; brother, Joe C. McCoig and sister, Carol Fleming. Bill was retired from Roadway Express after many years of service. He was a fabulous caring husband, father and grandfather who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Mary Justice McCoig; children, Renee (Dale) Hammitt and A.R. (Amy) McCall; grandchildren, Landen (Whitney) Hammitt and Hayden Hammitt and Ali McCall; sister-in-law, Wilma McCoig; special nephews, Brian (Linda) McCoig and Mark (Amy) McCoig; special niece, Missy (Jeff) Smith; special longtime friend, Ralph (Shirley) Giles; several nieces and nephews. There will be a service of sharing by family and friends held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel. Interment graveside services will Thursday, 11:30am at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy., Knoxville, TN.
