(BILL) THOMAS, age 89, of Dandridge, TN went to be with his Lord on June 16, 2004 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Shady Grove Utility District in 1995, on his 80th birthday, after serving as superintendent for many years. He also served as an inspector for Wayne L. Smith Engineers until he was 82 years of age. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Thomas; brother, Gene Thomas; and sisters, Ida Mary Roach and Mable Romines. Survived by his wife, Bonnie Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Wayne and Sharon Blazer; grandchildren, Jennifer Finchum and husband, Scott, and Kevin Blazer; great grandchildren, Sydney Finchum and Meredith Finchum; brothers, Hubert Thomas, George Thomas and C. H. Thomas, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2004 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with Reverend Jerry Hyder and Reverend Sam Hinchey officiating. Family and friends will gather at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge on Saturday, June 19, 2004 for a 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home, or you may call on the family at the home of Wayne and Sharon Blazer, 3550 Thomas Cross Road, Sevierville, TN.
