Wayne M. Watkins

WAYNE WATKINS, age 89, of Jefferson City, TN passed away at home on July 13, 2025. He was a member of Alpha Baptist Church. He was employed by Rugel Church Furniture for 62 years, a former trustee of Mt Pleasant Cemetery and a member of the Jefferson County Livestock Association. Preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Arlene Purkey Watkins; parents, Albert and Maude Watkins; brothers, Fred Watkins, A. B. Watkins, Gene Watkins, Lynn Watkins, Jack Watkins; and sister, Mary Northern. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Watkins, and Robin Watkins Harrell (Gerald); grandson, Kaylob Harrell (Jamee) and their daughter, Kaydn Harrell; grandson, Tristan Harrell (Cassie) and their children, Grayson and Colson Harrell; sister-in-law, Alma Gann; and several dear nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunderland Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery or Alpha Baptist Church. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Heath Smith and Dr. Terry Kirby officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Friday at Sunderland Cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside service. Pallbearers will be Joe Gibson, Reece Watkins, Kaylob Harrell, Tristan/Grayson Harrell, Lynn Smith, John Smelcer and Abigail Watkins. onon Honorary pallbearers will be Chip Watkins, Billy Cadle, Randy Hodge, Bill Taylor Sunday School Class and Larry Hurst Sunday School Class.
