Virginia Anne Cate Godwin

VIRGINIA ANNE CATE GODWIN, age 87, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on November 28, 2020. She was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church of Jefferson City. Anne retired from Bell South and AT&T after 30 years of service. After retirement she worked for ETHRA and served as the Jefferson County Senior Citizen director. She loved her pets, especially cats and enjoyed working in her flowers. Spending time with her granddaughter was her most special enjoyment. Preceded in death by her husband, Roger Godwin; parents, Charles T. Cate, Sr. and Elizabeth Bettis Cate; brother, Charles T. (Buddy) Cate, Jr; sister, Dorothy C. Taylor; special cousin, Glenda Blackburn. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Judy Godwin; granddaughter, Kasey Godwin; sisters-in-law, Patricia Godwin Spivey and Dorothy Roberts; special cousin, Barbara Blackburn Quarles; several other special cousins, nieces and nephews, and many special friends. Due to Covid restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARE, 310 Landfill Rd # 3436, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
