Velma J. Puckett Houser

VELMA PUCKETT HOUSER, age 88 of the Piedmont Community of New Market passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Bull) Neal and was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobbie D. Puckett and Frank Houser; brothers, George and John (Dick) and Ralph Neal and she is survived by her son Gordon (Tishene Workman) Puckett and granddaughter, Lily Puckettt; niece, Rebecca Neal and nephew, Michael Sander; special friend, Ronald Dile. She was a former employee of the Carson Newman University cafeteria staff and was a machine operator at Gaby Hoisery Mill. Velma was a member of the Flat Gap Baptist Church and will be remembered for her friendly disposition. She never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by her friends and all that knew her. Graveside funeral services will held Friday, June 19, 2026, 11:00am at Piedmont cemetery with Pastor Charles Shipley officiating.
