Roy James Reed

Roy James Reed, age 87, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Roy retired from NCR after 35 years of service. He was a member of the White Pine Volunteer Fire Department from 1968 through 1995 and a volunteer with White Pine Athletic Club as gatekeeper at little league football for over 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Leadvale Baptist Church. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eulis Ray and Nannie Mae Reed, brother, Eulis Ray Reed, Jr., sisters, Bertie Elizabeth Reed, Deanie Blanchard (Charlie), Carolyn Sue Ellis (Bill), Gail Sinard, son-in-law, Jerry Edwards. Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Reed, children, Tim Reed, Tammy Edwards, Greg (Dieonne) Reed, Angie Reed; grandchildren, Landon Sanders, Grant Reed, Taylor Reed, Wade Reed, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special Thank You to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful care given to Roy and the rest of the family.   

The family has requested that In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Donations be made to White Pine Fire Department, PO Box 1086, White Pine, TN 37890. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Leadvale Baptist Church, with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad officiating. Family will receive friends 5-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Graveside interment service will be Friday, May 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in White Pine Cemetery.
