Roy Lee Bishop

Roy “Lee” Bishop, age 93, of Talbott, TN passed away May 24, 2025. He was a member of Community Fellowship in Christ Church. He was a proud Navy veteran of the Korean War on the USS Guadalupe from 1952 – 1956.

Lee is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Kathleen Patterson Bishop, who he dearly missed; parents, Lewis Hurd and Bertha Mae Hurst Bishop; brothers, Fred, Junior, and Ray; sisters, Polly Cornwell, Juanita Wester, Marie McCoig and Jane Skelton.

He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Clara “Bertie” Bishop, Ruby Patterson Smith, Frieda Hines Patterson and Shirley Murray Patterson; special nieces, Lisa Bishop Stapleton and Cathy Hodge Kerby; special nephew, Robert Bishop; and several other nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, Silver Angels and to all the ladies who helped take care of our uncle at his greatest time of need.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Community Fellowship in Christ Church (P.O. Box 130 Talbott, TN 37877).

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City. A 11:00 a.m. graveside service will be held Friday, May 30, 2025 at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Trevor Roberts and VFW #5266 officiating.
