Rosa Mae Kinder

ROSA MAE HORNER KINDER, age 87, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on August 19, 2024 at NHC Parklane in Columbia, SC. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and the Order of the Eastern Star Holston Chapter. She was an avid bowler for many years, enjoyed several years of volunteering with Relay for Life; a graduate of Maury High School; and worked at Magnavox for many years. Preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Hannah Horner; brothers, Stanley, Mack, DeWitt, J. W., James, William Roy Jr., and Thomas Dewey; sisters, Maggie Gilliam, Ann Mills and Edna Bennett. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert Kinder of Jefferson City and now living in Blythewood, SC; daughter, Kimberly Rimmer (Jeffery) of Blythewood, SC; grandchildren, Hannah Davis (Will) of Elgin, SC, Abigail Rimmer of Athens, GA, and Matthew Rimmer of Blythewood, SC; brothers, Ray Horner of Morristown and Haskell Horner (Mary) of Louisville, KY; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Dr. Sonny Strange officiating. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 p.m. on Friday at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service. The family will be making memorial donations to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1916 Overlook Avenue, Jefferson City, TN 37760.
