Robert A. (Bob’) Baker, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home in Dandridge, Tennessee on Jan 24, 2026. He was one of identical twin sons born to Jake and Nettie (Patterson) Baker of Muddy Creek and Sandy Ridge near Chestnut Hill. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Maury High School in Dandridge and a 1952 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Business. On graduation he accepted a commission in the United States Air Force, married his life’s love Nancy Jane Davis of Strawberry Plains, and they shipped out to Yokota AFB in Tokyo. Bob loved the community of four generations of his ancestors and served his hometown in various civic capacities through the years. He was also an active member of Dandridge First United Methodist Church, its oldest surviving member at the time of his death. His talent for business, particularly sales and product innovation, led to the founding of Engineered Products (EPCO), American Accessories, and American Components. Bob also had a passion for politics, supporting and campaigning for several successful local, state and national candidates. Bob’s legacy is one of steadfast love, perseverance and a contagious optimism that never gave up. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, son Mark, infant brother Charles and twin Richard. Bob is survived by his son Scott (Lesa) of Dandridge, daughter-in law Teresa Thomason Baker of Sanibel, FL, brother Boyd (Sarah) of Lake Mary, FL, grandsons Ryan and Nicholas, both of Ft. Myers, FL, and granddaughter Isabelle (Dallas) of Chicago. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Phylis (David) Bates of Brentwood. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Dandridge First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Dandridge, TN 37725. A graveside memorial service for Bob will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Cemetery, 386 West Highway 25/ 70, Dandridge TN. Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge is in charge.
