Rev. Freddie Joe Devotie, age 81, of Jefferson City, TN finished his course peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026. He devoted his life to the Lord and was the pastor at House of Prayer in Morristown, TN for 25 years. He put God first in everything he did and his number one goal in death was to kiss and wash the feet of Jesus. Joe loved to serve his community, spreading the gospel, yard sales, and gardening. He was a family man and a true patriot. In 1986, he reorganized and founded the Lakeway Central Volunteer Fire Department. The fire department wasn’t just something he started- it was something he gave his heart and soul to for 38 years.
Joe was preceded in death by the love of his life, Judy Kay Devotie; granddaughter, Taylor Devotie; parents, George and Ethel Devotie; and siblings, James, Charlie, Floyd, Paul, David, Scottie “Ed”, Ruby, Rosie, Ruth, Gladys, Dolly, Lula-Belle, Dorothy, and two infant siblings.
He is survived by his children, Tim (Kim) Devotie, Steve (Pam) Devotie, Lisa Devotie, and Josh (Misty) Devotie; grandchildren, Rusty, TJ, Tanner (Chalea), Eli (Lauren), Trinity (Jonathan), Derrick (Amber), Jacob, Layla, and Weston; great-grandchildren, Samuel, Trenton, Ella, Emmy, and Walker; nieces; nephews; and several other special family and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 3:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. at House of Prayer in Morristown, TN with a funeral service to follow with Rev. Greg Lantis, Rev. Edward Gray and Rev. Ken Hopkins officiating, as well as, speaker, Jeff Coffey. Family and friends will gather at 1:00p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City to proceed to Jefferson Memorial Gardens for a 2:00p.m. graveside Friday, April 10, 2026.
