Patricia Gene Whaley, lovingly known as "Mamaw," age 82, of Kodak, passed away peacefully on October 1st, surrounded by her family.

Born on March 25, 1943 in Sevier County, she was the daughter of Gene and Hazel Knott. She built a life filled with love, laughter, and strong family traditions. Mamaw was the heart of her family. She was known for her warm hugs, homemade meals, and the way she could make anyone feel at home. Her porch was always open for conversation, and her wisdom and humor left lasting marks on everyone who knew her. She was a devoted member of Mountain View Church in Dandridge, TN and lived out her faith daily in word and deed.

Her kindness extended far beyond her own family. Mamaw gave the gift of life when she selflessly donated bone marrow to a young Canadian girl with leukemia, Kaila, forever changing that child's and her family’s future.

She especially loved quilting, cooking, gardening, and raising her grandbabies.

She is survived by her children: Janie Lynn (Bill) Lane and Jamie Von (Jennifer) Whaley, grandchildren: Rusty (Amanda) Whaley, Billy Joe (Kristin) Lane, Amanda (Nick) Huskey, Jackie (Andrew) Whaley, Laura Whaley, Deron Whaley, Katie (Philip) Ruggles, and Josh (Tori) Wilson, and many great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Carson, Lydia, Jake, Caroline, Lillianne, Parker, Preston, Gage, Collin, Lexi Jo, Jackson, Isabella, Alina, and Huxley. She is also survived by her “good daughter” Pam Flowers, her beloved dog flash who never left her side, Jessica Robertson, Kim Napier, Janet Arons, and many special friends — all of whom adored their mother, “Mamaw,” “Old Mamaw,” and “Meemaw.”

She was preceded in death by her parents: Gene and Hazel Knott, her husband: Jack E. Whaley, her son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Joyce Whaley, her great grandson: Jackie Blayke Whaley, and Kaila McWilliams whom she loved like a granddaughter.

The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, October 4th, from 5:00-6:00 PM at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge, TN. Services will follow beginning at 6:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Billy Stidham.

In lieu of cut flowers, the family requests potted plants or donations to the Operation Christmas Child ministry.
