Nellie Carmichael

Nellie B. Carmichael, age 85 of White Pine passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017. She is a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church after being a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church for 67 years. She was saved at 11 years old and baptized in the French Broad River. She is a 1949 graduate of Sevier County High School and retired from Standard Knitting Mill and JC Penny’s. Nellie was very proud of the fact that she had 55 years working at the Tennessee Valley Fair. She is preceded in death by her parents, Manley and Maude Hayes Carmichael and brother-in-law, Dale Snodgrass. She is survived by her sisters, Nina (Hoagy) Snodgrass and Carolyn (Dean) Rimmer, special great-great nephew, Owen Evans and special nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 5-7:00pm at Beech Springs Baptist Church, with funeral service to follow at 7:00pm with the Rev. Bobby Joe Handcock, Rev. Richie Hayes and Rev. Tim Jones officiating. Graveside Interment will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, family and friends will gather at 9:45am in Beech Springs Cemetery for the 10:00am service.
