Mildred Lindsey

Mildred Reneau Lindsey, age 82, of Dandridge, TN passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Richard Lindsey; parents Arville and Pearl Reneau; brothers Vaughn Reneau, Herbert Reneau, and Robert Reneau; sister-in-law Earla Reneau; niece Jennifer Reneau; nephew Ricky Reneau; and father and mother-in-law Horace Lindsey and Mary E. Lindsey.

Mildred was a lifelong resident of Dandridge and a 1960 graduate of Maury High School. She lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to others. She showed her love through the meals she prepared, nourishing both body and soul. Mildred was a caretaker of family members for most of her life, especially her grandchildren, who called her “Mimi.” She was known for her service to the community. She drove a school bus for 14 years, where she impacted many children. She served on Dandridge City Council, and was the owner of a children’s consignment store, “Mimi’s Place” during the early 2000s. Mildred was a lifelong member of Grant’s Chapel UMC and a member of Martha Dandridge #483 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit of giving and compassion will continue to live on through all those who were blessed to know her.

Mildred is survived by her daughters Debbie (Tim) Sharp, Susan (Kyle) Loveday, and Penny (Ed) Inman. She is also survived by grandchildren Lacey (Hayden) Reed, Lindsey Sharp, Kennedy Loveday, Kole Loveday, Katie Inman, and Logan Inman; sister-in-law Wilma Reneau; nieces Sheilah Neal, Robin Bush, and Pam (Russ) Robbins; nephew Mark Reneau and many cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. Funeral services will follow with the Rev. Darrell Chambers and Rev. Tom Stanton officiating. Interment and graveside services will be Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 11:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge with Rev. Darrell Chambers officiating.
