Michael Douglas McCullough, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on July 26, 2026. He was born August 24, 1956 to John and Ardis (Ziemer) McCulough. Mike spent his lifetime in service to his country and to others. After serving 20 years in the United States Marine Corp, he began his second career working as a Human Resources Director and Director of Quality and Safety for a manufacturing company near Greeneville, TN. During his lifetime he served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader in Tennessee and started a Veterans Club in the retirement community where he resided in Naperville. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, fishing and golfing. His greatest joy was making memories with his two precious granddaughters. Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. While living in Dandridge, Tennessee  overlooking the beautiful Douglas Lake, Mike and Betty where dedicated members of the Dandridge First United Methodist Church and where active in their Sunday School class and many other church projects as well in the community.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years Betty (Greubel) McCullough; son Sean McCullough and his wife Stephanie; cherished granddaughters Catherine Rose and Maria Elizabeth; sisters Donna Giacchino, Sue Glenzinski, Kathy Smith, and Mary Beth McGrath, many nieces and nephews and dear friends and family. He is preceded in death by his mother and father and brother Terry McCullough. 

Visitation will be Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 10 am to noon, followed by a memorial service. Internment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia at a later date.
