Marilyn Shaver Mounts, 84 years old, of White Pine, TN went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on June 5, 2026. Marilyn was a devoted Christian, wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She had an overwhelming love for helping others and always put everyone else first. She had a fun-loving spirit and loved to laugh.
She was a 1959 graduate of White Pine High School. She was co-owner of B & S Building Supply, alongside her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Joyce Shaver, and her mother and father, Evelyn and Willard Bass. B & S was a local hardware store, lumber supply, and roof truss manufacturer located in White Pine. B & S was an integral part of the community serving all of East TN for 38 years. She was a long-time member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church in Newport, TN. She served as a Sunday School teacher in the children and youth ministry for 30 plus years.
She was preceded in death by parents, Evelyn and Willard Bass. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert (Bob) Mounts; son, Todd (Elizabeth) Mounts; grandsons, Jackson and John Mounts; brother, Jerry (Joyce) Shaver; brother, Billy (Heidi) Bass; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Life Care Center of Jefferson City for taking such good care of her. The family would also like to thank Gentiva Hospice, especially nurses, Alisha and Heather. Also, her special friend and roommate Flora (Flo) Poplin.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, 2026, between the hours of 5:00-7:00 p.m.at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel, White Pine. There will be a funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug King and William Mounts officiating. A graveside interment service will be on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in White Pine Cemetery.
