Margery Mae Mushlitz

Margery Mae “Sorensen” Mushlitz, age 86, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 surrounded by friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and “GG”. Margery dedicated her life to the Red Cross disaster relief, however, in her free time, she was an animal lover who loved to be outdoors, gardening and bird watching. When she wasn’t outside, Margery could be found on the dance floor, being the mascot to the Boot Scootin Seniors line dance group.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mushlitz and parents, James and Maurice Sorensen. Margery is survived by her children, Candace (Michael) Sethna, Brenda Mushlitz, and Christopher Mushlitz; grandchildren, Kendall (Michael Murray) Sethna and Kaitlin (Adam) Tyson; great-grandchildren, Colt Tyson, Isaac Murray, Axel Tyson, Eleanor Murray, and Alyssa Tyson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA, Red Cross, C.A.R.E or the Wounded Warrior Project in her honor. A celebration of life will be announced soon.
