Malcolm Cotton, age 84, born Oct 1, 1940 of Dandridge TN passed away after a long illness of dementia on June 7, 2025, surrounded by family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was a true servant of GOD. He was born in Canton, MS. He joined the marines at age 18 and served for 11 years. He retired after 30 years from the US post office in Knoxville, TN. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting. He was a member of Shady Grove Church in Dandridge since 1977 where he served in choir, children's ministry, van ministry, and bible school. He helped with building the new sanctuary in 2007. He was always lending a generous hand to those who needed him. He was full of laughter and life and loved the LORD with all his heart. He was a gifted guitar player and singer who found joy in singing and playing bluegrass with his friends. He treasured time outdoors whether fishing on the lake, hunting in the woods or water skiing on the lake. The lake and woods were his happy place, where many memories were made with family and friends.

Preceded in death by parents Norris Cotton and Docia Cotton. Survived by his loving wife Wanda Cotton of 63 years. Daughter Vicky Mantooth and sons Charles (Denise) Foster, Brian (Kristine) Cotton, Roger Cotton.

Grandchildren: Anthony Mantooth, Jacob (Kaela) Cotton, Abigail Cotton, Jonah Cotton, Kyle (Brooke) Foster, Noel (Jacob) Degre.

Great Grandchildren: Kaydence (Ricky) Loveday, Destiny Mantooth, Joshua Baker, Freja Cotton, Eliana Foster-Degre, Alia Foster-Degre, Makaylinn Foster, Ryleigh Foster, and a Great Great Grandson due December 2025: Ryker Loveday

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength and song.

A celebration of life will be held on June 28th at 9am at Shady Grove Church, Dandridge, TN followed by graveside with military honors at Hillcrest Cemetery Dandridge TN. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Shady Grove Church Building fund or children's ministry in honor of his memory.

Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge is honored to serve the Cotton family.
