Mack Fox

Mack Fox, 84, of Jefferson City passed to his eternal resting place on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Jefferson Park of Dandridge after a five year battle with Alzheimer’s. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist of Dandridge. Mack was born in Cocke County, Tennessee to Hascal and Ruth Dawson Fox and spent most of his life in Dandridge. He retired after 40 years of truck driving for White Stores/Food City and after retirement, drove seven years with Smoky Mountain Knife Works. He was extremely proud of his safe driving record and was glad to talk about it. He dearly loved his family, church, and Lord. He was extra proud of his two granddaughters. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Anderson, Everett, and Herbert Fox; sisters Edna Sheffey, Arlone Fox, Gladys Whitt, Phoebe Barbee and Maggie McClain. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Shaffer Fox; son Kevin (Linda) Fox of Mooresville, NC, and granddaughters Amanda (Mike) deBoer and Abby Fox all of Charlotte, NC. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Jefferson Park at Dandridge and UT Hospice. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00pm at the Dandridge First United Methodist, with the funeral service to follow at 4:00pm with Rev. Sherry Sellars and Dr. Kristen Burkhart officiating. Interment graveside services will be 11:00am Monday, September 27, 2021 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dandridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to First United Methodist Church, Dandridge PO Box 8, Dandridge, TN 37725.
