Lorene Hance

Lorene Hance, age 97 of the Sandy Ridge community of Dandridge, TN passed away Monday, January 12, 2026. She was the oldest living and life-long member of the Hills Union Church. Lorene served her church and community in many ways and was always willing to participate wherever she could. She retired after many years as a clerk in the Jefferson County Court Clerk’s office. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Ann Strange Hance; siblings, Ruth Hinton, George “Buck” Hance, Jack Hance and Jane Hutton and is survived by her sisters, Gladys Poe, Jean (Kenneth) Cureton, Shirley (Jerry) Hartsell, Kaye (Dana) Teele; several nieces and nephews; special caregiver Mary Kennedy and special friend and neighbor, Steve James. The family wishes to express their appreciation and thank you to the employees of Jefferson Park and Smoky Mountain Hospice for their loving care to Lorene. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Hills Union Cemetery Fund, 2383 Hills Chapel Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 1:00pm at Hills Union Church with Rev. Darrell Chambers officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call at their convenience on Thursday or Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge at 865-397-2711.
