Lois Hicks Ison, age 70 of Morristown, TN, died at her home on Monday, November 28, 2022. She was a member of Mosheim Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jay Ison, parents, Carl and Nancy Jane Hicks, father and mother-in-law, Murrell and Irene Ison, brothers, Wayne (Polly) Hicks, James Delmer (Mary) Hicks, and Billy Hicks, sisters, Alma (Robert) Rader, Mable (Robert) Starnes, Lyndia Stanifer, and Barbara Cruey, brothers-in-law, Gene Ball and Charles Smelcer, and sister-in-law, Julie Hicks. She is survived by her brothers, Dallas “Doc” Hicks, Phil (Juanita) Hicks, and Odell (Dorothy) Hicks, sisters, Frances Smelcer, Erma Ball, Glenda (Junior) Gilland, and Debbie (Charlie) Brown, brothers-in-law, Dennis Stanifer and Doug Cruey, a host of nieces and nephews, special friends, Mildred Cartpenter and Debbie Bailey, and a special niece and her husband, Susie and Andy Foulks. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Alder and Rev. Darrell Alder officiating. Graveside interment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Farrar Funeral home prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers will be, Charlie Brown, George Gross, Lannie Hicks, Andy Foulks, Don Farmer, Doyle Smelcer, Marty Hicks, and Brandon Farmer.
