Lawrence Masters

Lawrence Masters, 83, of Dandridge, Tennessee, passed away at his home on September 8, 2026. The original Jefferson County Rabbit Sheriff, Lawrence dedicated 36 years of service to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency before his retirement. He was a man of great character, remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, infectious laugh, and easy way of making those around him feel welcome. Lawrence had a kind heart, a steady strength that carried him through life, and an unending willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Merta Masters; brothers, Tom, Mick, Richard, and Gregg Masters; and sisters, Irene Silvers, Betty Jo Moorman, and Genevieve Deyton. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Hobbs (Randy); son, Larry Masters (Stacy); grandsons, Cayden Masters and Colton Masters (Mady); brothers, Wendell, David (Joy), and Craig Masters; Sisters in Law, Dianne Masters (Gregg) and Sandy Masters (Richard); along with several nieces and nephews, extended family members, and many longtime friends who will cherish his memory.

Lawrence’s life was marked by love, laughter, dedication, and quiet strength. Whether through his years of work, his devotion to family, or the everyday kindness he showed to others, he made a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose humor could brighten a room and whose generosity was felt by many. His family takes comfort in the many memories they shared with him and in the example, he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity or that you honor Lawrence’s memory by helping someone in need.
