Lanae M. Hatfield

Lanae Mary Hatfield, 59, of Strawberry Plains passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026. She was born to David James King and Alixe Laverne Harriman.

Lanae was a woman who carried joy wherever she went. Her bright spirit could light up any room, and her kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was always positive, encouraging, and ready to bring comfort and love to those around her. She was truly a bright light in the darkness, and there wasn’t a soul who didn’t love her.

Above all else, Lanae cherished her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with the people she loved. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. Her love, warmth, and encouragement will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

Lanae is survived by her beloved husband, Joshua Hatfield; her children, Emiko Rodriguez her spouse Juan Rodriguez. Ashley Hatfield, Jeremiah Hatfield, and Alanta Genn; and her grandchildren, John, Ely, Ariella, Yzabella, and Noah Rodriguez. And Carter Clinton. And Kaizen Genn

Though her time with us was not long enough, the love she gave was immeasurable. Her laughter, kindness, positivity, and beautiful spirit will live on through the family she loved so deeply and through every person whose life she touched. Lanae was a light in this world, and that light will never be forgotten.

Her family will miss her in more ways than words can ever express. They will miss her voice, her laughter, her encouragement, her hugs, and the warmth she brought into their lives. They will miss having her here for the moments still to come. But Lanae’s love did not leave with her. It lives on in her spouse. It lives on in her children. It lives on in her grandchildren. It lives on in the memories she created. It lives on in every person she encouraged and every life she made a little brighter.
