Joyce Carolyn Layman

Joyce Carolyn Edmonds Layman, age 85 of Dandridge, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Joyce loved everyone she met; treating folks like family. She loved word search puzzles, watching wildlife, and staying in touch with those closest to her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurman & Nelma Hurst Edmonds; her son, Billy Layman; and sister, Mary Edmonds. She is survived by her loving husband of more then 60 years, Gerald Layman; her granddaughter, Taylor (Joe Mahieu) Layman; grandson, Jake Willis; and a little granddaughter on the way; several in-laws, extended family, and special friends, including Missy McAnally, and Toni Stallings.

Pastor Wayne McKinney will officiate the funeral service at 6PM Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. The family will receive friends from 4PM to 6PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at 11AM, Thursday, February 26, 2026 at the Swann's Chapel Cemetery.
