Joseph Allen Cross

Joseph “Joe” Allen Cross, age 89, of Jefferson City, TN passed away on June 15, 2026. He was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church, Chattanooga, TN. He retired from TVA. Joe Allen never met a stranger and loved to spend his time talking with family, friends, and neighbors.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Cross; sisters, Wanda McGhee, Lorraine Owens, and Evelyn Sherrill; and mother of his children, Bille June Anderson Cross.

He is survived by his children, Sherry (Wayne) Williams, Scott Cross and Kathy, Lisa (Darrell) Williams; grandchildren, Katie Williams, Caleb Williams, Blake Bull, Sean Cross, and Kyle Cross; great-grandchildren, Sydney Williams, Jaxon Williams, and Hadlee Williams; brother, Don Cross; sister, Alma Faye (Fred) Stubblefield; and special friends, Thelma Fishel, Jim Wilson, Marge Olmstead, Maddie Helton and Harold Denton.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Appalachian Outreach Ministries Program or Dolly Parton’s Children’s Hospital. Family and friends will gather at 1:45p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Buffalo Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for a 2:00p.m. graveside with Rev. Jim Wilson officiating.
