John Ethan Tipton

John Ethan Tipton “JET”, a beloved son, brother, friend, and member of the community, passed away on January 15, 2023, at the age of 19.  Ethan was born on July 16, 2003, in Knoxville, TN, to John R. and Crystal Tipton.

Ethan is survived and cherished by his parents and his brothers Mathew and Luke Tipton.  He was also cherished by his grandparents John F and Diana Tipton, Alan and Donna Melton, Jimmy Gilbert, and great grandmother, Arlzie White.  Ethan was a loving nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

Ethan was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he found joy in his faith and his involvement in the youth group.  He accepted Christ as his Savior and was later baptized on July 3, 2016, which was a significant moment in his life.  He loved spending time with his youth group and had a special relationship with his youth leaders.

Ethan had a passion for experimenting with cooking.  He enjoyed exploring new recipes and techniques and sharing them with his friends.  He also had interests in sharks, prehistoric creatures, especially dinosaurs, and mythical beasts such as dragons.  Ethan loved putting on elaborate fireworks displays with his friends.  He had an adventurous spirit and loved exploring nature.  Ethan wanted to be a jet fighter pilot when he was young.

Ethan was deeply patriotic and appreciated the men and women who serve in the military to protect our country.  His respect for their sacrifice and dedication reflected his strong character and values.

A celebration of Ethan's life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 3200 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, TN, on Saturday, March 11, at 1:00 PM. Prior to the service, friends and family may pay their respects during a receiving period from 12:00-1:00 PM at the church.  Pastor Dan Riley will lead the service.  The burial service will be held Friday, March 10, at 1:00 PM at Strawberry Plains Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Scott Eagen Memorial Youth Fund at Calvary Baptist Church, either online at www.knoxcalvary.com or by mailing a check to the church at the address provided.  The fund supports the youth program at Calvary Baptist Church, which was a significant part of Ethan's life.  The family appreciates any contributions made in Ethan's memory and wishes to express their gratitude for the support and love they have received during this difficult time.

Ethan will be dearly missed by all who knew him.  His memory will live on through the love he shared with those around him, the memories he created, and the impact he had on the lives of many.  A memorial site has been set up where friends and family can share memories and celebrate Ethan's life: https://memories.net/timeline/ethan-tipton-27811.
