John D. (J.D.) Ivy

John D. (J.D.) Ivy passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at his residence. J.D. was retired from the Berkline Corporation after more than thirty years.

He was a God-fearing man that enjoyed serving the Lord and was a great witness to all that knew him. He was a choir director and youth choir director for many years. In addition, he taught the Senior Adult Sunday School class.

J.D. was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Jo Ann Ivy (who passed away on September 5, 2025), his son, Steve, his parents, Dudley and Mary Louise Ivy, and his sister, Loretta Dukes.

He is survived by his nephew, Johnny Jones, along with other family members. This is in addition to his church family.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Thankful Missionary Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Barry Warren, Rev. Dennis Alder, and Rev. J.W. Dalton officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Hamblen Memory Gardens.
