Jerry C Morgan, age 71, of Strawberry Plains, TN passed away peacefully on January 20, 2021, following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.C. and Aline Morgan, father and mother-in-law, Charles and Marie Lambdin, and brother-in-law, John (Petey) Lambdin. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Lambdin Morgan; son, Justin Morgan and fiancé Melanie Thurman; sister, Sherry Morgan; niece, Whitney Stansell (Rodney); and nephew, Travis Lambdin (Casey) He is also survived by the loyal and dedicated employees of Jerry Morgan Repair, whom he thought of as family, Tom Puckett; Ethan Puckett; Danny Hensley; and Michael Riddle. He also leaves behind an uncle James Carroll Morgan(Maxine); several cousins; and a host of wonderful friends. He was an active and dedicated member of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church, where he served as Elder. Jerry worked most of his life in the field of collision repair for heavy duty trucks. He managed body shops at several truck dealerships in the Knoxville area before opening his own business, Jerry Morgan Repair, in New Market, TN in 2008. Jerry lived a full and active life and enjoyed many hobbies through the years, most of which involved some type of motor sports, including drag boat racing; NHRA truck racing; designing and building award winning trucks and motorcycles; and garden tractor pulling. He liked nothing better than a good competition but was always willing to share his expertise with others. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jerry’s memory to Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 75, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871, or a charity of your choice.
