Janice Ruth Belpreź

Janice Ruth Belpreź, age 86 of Dandridge, passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

As the matriarch of her family, she will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. A faithful Christian, she loved the Lord; and was a member of French Broad Baptist Church.

Born in Rome, Georgia, Jan was one of two daughters of LeRoy & Louise Bradshaw Millican. Early in her childhood, the family moved to Michigan, where she attended East Detroit High School, graduating with the Class of 1957. She then took a job with Chrysler Corporation, where she met the love of her life, Girard "Jerry" Belpreź. Married in 1971, the couple spent 54 wonderful years together; 30 of which have been in Dandridge. Jan loved athletics, with particular interest in softball and golf... which she played well into her 60s.

In addition to her parents, Jan was preceded in death by her sister, Faye Hendee; and a son, Marty Belpreź. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jerry; children, Mike (Karen) Belpreź, Andy (Lisa) Belpreź, and Rebecca Belpreź-Goldsberry; grandchildren, Chrissie (Adam) LaLonde, Jesse Keelin, Andrew (Samantha) Belpreź, Stephanie Belpreź, Sarah Belpreź-Goldsberry, Wyatt Belpreź-Goldberry, Leah Belpreź-Goldsberry, and Cora Belpreź-Goldsberry; great-grandchildren, Tyson LaLonde & Colton LaLonde; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 2PM, Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with Pastor Hartsell McCurry officiating and music from her granddaughter, Cora Belpreź-Goldsberry & niece, Tracey Butterworth. The family will receive friends from Noon to 2PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the cancer or Alzheimer's charity of your choice.
