James Alec Woody

James A. Woody, age 79 of Dandridge, passed away peacefully at his home on the morning of Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

He was a member of Swannsylvania Baptist Church. Throughout his life, James loved helping people. He enjoyed deer hunting and UT Vols athletics. Most importantly, he loved his family... and spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior Wallace Woody and Margaret Ann Williamson Woody; brothers, Ronnie & David; and sister, Brenda. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Woody; sons, John Ezekiel "Zeke" Woody & Timothy Blake (Hannah) Woody; grandchildren, McKayla Grace Woody, and Addie & Josie Michaels; siblings, Marie, Elaine, Tommy, Charles, Wallace, & Susie; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Pastor Mike Hensley will officiate the graveside service, which will take place at 3PM, Thursday, October 8, 2026 at the Swannsylvania Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Food Pantry at Swannsylvania Baptist Church.
