James "Roger" Bishop

James “Roger” Bishop, age 81, born on March 16, 1943 entered the gates of Heaven on Thanksgiving, November 28, 2024. He served the Army in Vietnam and upon coming home retired from Magnavox. He was an avid fisherman and dove hunter. He was saved at an early age and even in sickness did not want to miss church. He is preceded in death by parents, Wayne and Helen Bishop and grandson, Micah Slade Evans. He is survived by his only daughter, Tonja (Chuck) Ellison; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Kam) Cullison, Ty Ellison and Harlee Ellison; great-grandkids, Lainey Ellison, Klaire Cullison and Klay Cullison; several cousins and other family members. A heartfelt thank you to all of his care and support team which includes family and friends as well. I will leave you with this, Roger loved his country and loved his Lord. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I Kept the good faith. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City with Rev. Charlie Brewer officiating. Family and friends will gather at 1:45 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service to be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery, Talbott, TN.
