James "Jimmy" G McCorkle

Jim McCorkle, 92, passed away April 28th 2025. Jim was born in White Pine on October 5th 1932 to Clarence and Marjorie McCorkle. Jim had one sister, Anna Rhea Peoples.

He spent his life as a mail carrier and farmer. He was dedicated to his work, his family, and his friends.
Beyond his professional life, Jim was a past president and long-time member of White Pine Cemetery Association, member of the White Pine Lion's Club where he was a Melvin Jones Fellow Award winner and Jim had a passion for his community and a love to serve it. He found joy in his long lasting friendships, the town, his community service, and his family.
He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, faith in God, and sense of humor.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Gladys McCorkle. He had two children. Susan Ottinger and her husband Gerald Ottinger. JoEllen Osborne and her husband Danny Osborne. Jim had 3 grandchildren, Jeremy Allen, Sydney Venable, and Cole Osborne. He had 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxson Allen and Maddie Allen.

The family has requested that In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Donations be made to White Pine Fire Department, P.O. Box 1086, White Pine, TN 37890.

The family will receive friends on Thursday May 1, 2025 from 3pm-6pm at the First Methodist Church in White Pine with funeral service following visitation. Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00am in White Pine Cemetery
He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will be cherished forever.
