James “Jim” Shelton Smith, age 87 of White Pine, passed away at his home after a brief illness on Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was a member of Leadvale Baptist Church. He was an avid woodworker, gardener, and puzzle enthusiast.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Patricia J. Smith; sons, Robby Smith, Tracy Smith; parents, Theodore and Myrtle Jarnigan Smith; brothers J.C., Howard, Harold, Donald, Homer and Clyde; sisters, Mattie Reed and Daisy Broyles. 

Jim is survived by his children, Kim (Stan) Wolfe, Jason Lee Smith; special stepson, Michael (Missy) Southerland, daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Smith, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren; special niece, Karen Yates, and several other extended family members and friends.

The family with receive friends on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Leadvale Baptist Church, White Pine with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Brandon Cate and Charlie Harkleroad officiating. Graveside interment service will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Beech Springs Cemetery, Kodak, TN.
