JAMES W. HORNER, age 74, of Talbott, TN, born October 30, 1929, went to be with Jesus on December 24, 2003. James enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. His life revolved around his children and his wife who are left to cherish his memories and celebrate his life. James enjoyed his farming and yard work and would often be seen on his lawn mower, riding his tractor, and sitting in his swing. He was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed by all that were touched by knowing him. James was retired from Phillips in Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ross and Carrie Horner; brothers, Coy Horner, Haskell Horner and Herman Horner; sister, Angie Guinn. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Martha Horner; his loving and devoted daughters, Jimmie and Johnny Harbin of Dandridge; Susie and Kenny Deering of Talbott; grandchildren, Nikki and James Harris of Dandridge and Jason Nicely of New Market; great grand daughter, Jessie Harris of Dandridge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond and Freda Horner of Talbott, J.D. Horner of Morristown; sisters, Lorene Wolfe of Morristown, Catherine Carpenter of Morristown, Helen and John Welch of Morristown, Nancy and Bobby Moore of Talbott. Nancy was with James and his family to love and comfort him during his last days. We thank her so much for everything. Also survived by special friends, Jack Pratt, George Adams and Jimmy Lilly; several nieces and nephews; special brother-in-law and wife, Nathan and Audrey Lowery. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2003 at the Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Vaughn Woody officiating. Family and friends will meet at Pleasant View Cemetery on Saturday, December 27, 2003 for an 11:00 a.m. graveside interment service.
