James "Hack" Haskell Hurst

JAMES HASKELL "HACK" HURST, age 84, of Dandridge, TN passed away Sunday afternoon, October 19, 2014 at the Jefferson Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of the Swanns Chapel Baptist Church. A beloved father, grandfather and friend, he was loved by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Maggie Depew Hurst. He is survived by his daughter, Geneva Williams; son, James D. "Jimmy" Hurst, both of Strawberry Plains; grandchildren, Holli Mayes and husband Tim, Ashley Nicole McAlpin and Kayla Spiratos and Johnathan M. Hurst; great-grandchildren, Russell, Bryndyn Smith, Zaden McAlpin, Davan, Rayne and Mason Mayes, and Lillie Hurst. Funeral service will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne McKinney and Rev. Danny Henderson officiating. Interment graveside service 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Swanns Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening prior to the service at the funeral home.
