James R. Bledsoe, age 68, of Dandridge, Tennessee, formerly of Pensacola, Fla, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. He was a veteran of the US Marines and the Korean Conflict, and was retired from the naval Base at Pensacola, Fla. Preceded in death by parents, James A. and Bernice Higgins Bledsoe. Survived by daughter and son in law, Debbie and Bruce Hale of Clinton; son and daughter in law, Steve and Sherry Bledsoe of Dandridge; grandson, Adam Bledsoe and step granddaughter, Michelle Figeroau; sisters, Harriett Franklin, Lois Maujer, Virginia Ooton and Chloe Williams; special cousin, Bud Higgins and wife, Bobbie Ruth, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services, Friday 2:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge with Rev. John W. Shaw officiating. Interment to follow with military honors by the Volunteer State Honor Guard at Hills Union Cemetery. the family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
