Jack C. Denton

Jack C Denton age 94, of New Market passed away Friday June 12, 2026 at Charter Assisted Living surrounded by family. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked in road construction most of his life and always worked on the farm. He was a member of Dumplin Baptist Church where he enjoyed being part of the Golden Gems. He was a founding member of the Sevier County Rescue Squad and he played an integral role in the groups initial 1959 formation. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time fishing and camping and he enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Loveday Denton; his parents, James F and Ella Mae Denton; Brothers Lloyd (Agnes) Denton, Reece (Lorraine) Denton; sisters Gladys Gaylor, Lola Mae (Bufford) Hardin; nieces, Sheila Brady and Judy Huffaker. Jack is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (Phil) Gibson and Vickie (Kevin) Fox; Grandchildren. Jennifer (Braxton) Churchwell, Keisha (Charles) Pack, Kelli Wyrick; Great-Grand-children, Caitlyn Correll, Hannah Corell, MeKenzie Pack, Ezekiel Wyrick and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend our thanks to Charter Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice for his care.

The family will receive friends on Sunday June 14, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Dandridge with a funeral to follow at 3:00pm, Interment will be at Hillcrest cemetery in Dandridge immediately following the service with Chaplain Tanner Mundy and Rev. Ricky Hardin II officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in his memory to Sevier County Rescue Squad 1171 Dolly Parton Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862.
