Jack A. Allen

Jack Allen, age 79 of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with heart disease. Jack was a member of Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church and an Air Force veteran. After his 4 years in the Air Force, he began and ended his career with Lowes Home Improvement with 40 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oad and Mattie Allen, and son, Clark Allen. Jack is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Allen, daughters, Regina (Mark Jr.) Bounds and Krista Allen, grandson, Mark Allen (Kate) Bounds III, granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth (Dylan) Hochevar, and brother, Jim (Barbara) Allen. A Graveside service will be on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Charlie Harkleroad officiating. Jack will Lie in State at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from noon to 5:00 PM. In consideration of the health and safety of all those attending the services, Farrar Funeral Home strongly encourages all CDC guidelines be followed, including the use of social distancing and facemasks. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
