Harriet Bledsoe Franklin

Harriet Bledsoe Franklin passed away June 21, 2025 at Jefferson Park in Dandridge. She was born in Soddy, TN in 1927; moving to Jefferson county as a young girl when her Dad came to work on building the dams for the World War II efforts.

Harriet was the oldest member of Grant's Chapel Church and the eldest of five children. A proud lifelong farmer, Harriet could grow anything; and was happiest when working outside.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, George William Franklin and infant daughter, Georgetta. She leaves behind her son Cecil; daughter, Betty, and caretaker son, James Dale Franklin; grandchildren, Beverly, Vic, Todd, Cindy, Mark, & Brent; many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

The family would like to thank the caring staff of Jefferson Park, where she received great care. Specifically, they wish to recognize Judy Roberts, who was always lovingly bringing comfort items for her.

The family will receive friends from noon to 2PM, Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. Rev. Charlie Shipley will officiate the funeral service at 2PM with Interment will follow at the Grant’s Chapel Cemetery.
