Harlie L. "Bill" Chester

HARLIE “BILL” CHESTER, age, 91 of Dandridge, TN passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Sam and Beatrice Chester and was preceded in death by his son, Kim Chester; grandchild, Christian Kirkpatrick and ten brothers and sisters.

Bill is survived by his children, Jeannie (Gary) Fox, Garry (Pat Wilson), Chester and Brenda Duncan; grandchildren, Jeremy (Sharon) Chester, Chesia (Derrick) Kirkpatrick; great grandchildren, Sarah and Sam Chester, Austin (Laurin) Kirkpatrick, Harley Kirkpatrick; great-great grandchildren, Gavin and Lydia Kirkpatrick; long-time companion, Joan Edmonds and former wife, Ila Lowery; sisters, Dorothy Bell, Betty (Gwendall) Gravitt, Hazel (JR) Wiseman, Joan (Rick) Willis; brothers, Bob (Frieda) Chester, Jim (Vella) Chester and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1955. Following his military service, he worked as a factory machinist for Bush Canning Co, Enka, Epco and Le Sportsac. 

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024, 2:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at FARRAR FUNERAL HOME, DANDRIDGE, TN
