Glenda Kay French

GLENDA KAY FRENCH, age 77, January 20, 1947 – March 5, 2024 of Maryville, TN formerly of New Market, TN passed away Tuesday afternoon following a battle with cancer.  She was preceded in death by parents, R.F. and Elizabeth Carroll; in-laws, Harvey and Bonnie French; sister-in-law, Brenda French Harrison. She is survived by her husband, Jeffery Ray French; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Bill McNutt; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Julie French; grandchildren, Prater, Ellie, Mollee, and Gaven French; brother-in-law, Ted Harrison; nieces and nephews, Ted Jr. and Hope Harrison, Benji and Emily Rhodes, Ben and Erin Harrison and several great nieces and nephews; her favorite furry friend, Izzie. She is also survived by several special extended family members and friends…too many to name.  She worked at Allied Chemical, Knox Filters and was a retired supervisor for Alcoa Aluminum Co.  She was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Piney Baptist Church of New Market, TN, and a recent member of East Maryville Baptist Church of Maryville, TN.  Mimi, as she was affectionately called, enjoyed quilting and animals, but mostly she loved spending time with her family…especially cooking breakfast for her grandchildren and “adopted” ones every morning.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Pleasant Grove Piney Church, 2660 Piney Rd, New Market, TN 37820.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024, 3:00pm at Pleasant Grove Piney Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hardin and Rev. Sam Grindstaff officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends in the fellowship hall following the service.  A private burial service will be held at Deep Springs Cemetery.
