Georgie Cathern Maples

Georgie Cathern Maples, age 87 of Kannapolis, NC (formerly of Jefferson City, TN) passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June4, 2025. Georgie was born on April 11, 1938, to the late Ezra and Myrtle Carr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband, Carl Maples; infant daughter, Karen Carlene, and sister, Lois Fox. Georgie was a loving Mother, Mamaw, Great Mamaw, and Jo Jo. Georgie was a member of Beaver Creek Baptist Church.

During her career at Rittenhouse-Nashua as a Customer Service Manager, she was the office grandmother and always welcomed anyone who needed a sympathetic ear. She was the heart and soul of the customer service experience for the customers.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the excellent care provided by the staff at Best of Care Assisted Living Center to Georgie over the last 4 ½ years.

Her survivors include her daughter, Kathy Mowrer (Larry) of Kannapolis, NC, granddaughter, Laura Lopez-Serna (Jose) of Davidson, NC, great grandsons, Eli and Jeremiah Lopez-Serna, nephew, Jeffrey Fox, niece, Tammy Loy (Rick), and great nephews, Caleb and Evan Loy of New Market, TN.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rick Loy officiating.
