Gary Lynn Moore

Gary Lynn Moore, age 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 11, 2026. Born and raised in Defiance, Ohio, Gary spent his career years working for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY, where he married and raised his family. Since 2003 he has lived in the South. Gary was a member of First Baptist Church of Dandridge. Gary loved hiking, fishing, camping, canoeing, kayaking and loved gardening and the peace it brought him every year. He always looked forward to the Moore boys camping and hiking trips. He especially enjoyed southern gospel music and the peace and promises it proclaims. He too loved movies and stories about the West and World History. He is preceeded in death by sons, Brian and Jeff Moore; parents, Donald and Wilma Moore; brother, Donnie Paul Moore; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Alberta DeRycke; and brother-in-law, Douglas DeRycke. He is survived by wife of 55 years, Robbie; daughter, Sandra; his sidekick “little Ruthie”; brothers, Jim (Bonnie) Moore, Terry (Kelly) Moore, Mike (Dawn) Moore, Steve Moore; brother in law, Tom (Judy) DeRycke; special friend, Nancy “Kid” Weilert; faithful niece, Kim Wolf; forever son-in-law, Bob Amos, along with several other nieces, nephews, and good friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Jefferson Park at Dandridge for making Gary feel at home, The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
