Garland E. Long

Reverend Garland E. Long, age 77 of Jefferson City, TN, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, following a brief illness. He was a minister for 28 years and was currently serving as a Chaplin of Amedisys Hospice where he had been for 17 years. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Garland E. Long, Sr. and Chrystel; brothers, Jerry Ray and Glenn Long; and brother-in-law, Jerry Matney. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diane Long; sons, Beau (Jama) Long and Daniel Long; grandchildren, Chrysta Long and her fiancé, Andrew Leffingwell and Garrett Long who he greatly enjoyed spending time with; sisters, Sharon (Tom) Shubert, Susan Matney; brothers, Kenneth Long and Donna, Chester Long and Judy, Neil (Debbie) Long; sisters-in-laws, Bertha Long and Karen Long; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, TN and Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at White Pine Methodist Church with a funeral service to follow at 4:00pm with Reverend T.J.
