Florence "Flossie" Osborne

Florence (Flossie) Osborne, 94, of White Pine, Tenn., passed away on June 6, 2024, at Jefferson Park at White Pine. Flossie was born December 10, 1929, and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of White Pine and retired from BASF in Morristown where she was a supervisor for 37 years. She was a believer and prayer warrior, an avid reader, and she loved to watch Jeopardy with her family. She loved her family immensely and taught Sunday School for many years at FBC White Pine, and she helped many become believers and shared Jesus with everyone she knew, including her daughter, Julia, who first was saved after hearing Flossie sing from the hymnals at Beth-Carr United Methodist Church in Leadvale.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John Lafayette (Johnny) Osborne, her son Gordon Osborne, her parents Dutch and Grace Gentry, her sister Julia May (Tootsie) McMahan, and her brothers Jim Gentry and JD Reneau. She is survived by her daughter Julia Daniels and son-in-law Steve, daughter-in-law Linda Osborne, grandsons Brian (Mindy) Osborne, Brent Osborne, Matt (Beth) Daniels and Jeremiah (Jaime) Daniels, great grandchildren Tyler Osborne, Ashlynn Osborne, Madyson Osborne, Bryson Osborne, Jackson Osborne, Isaiah Daniels, Caroline Daniels, Emme Mutterspaugh, Ethan Mutterspaugh, Elyse Mutterspaugh, Kristin Mutterspaugh, Kyla Mutterspaugh and Keziah Grimes, great great grandchildren Jesiah Egan and Dominique Osborne, several nephews and nieces, including Jamie Holbert and Lisa Cortez, who were more like daughters to her, and several great nephews and great nieces. Special thanks to all those friends and extended family that has been a part of Flossie’s life and prayed for and with her on a daily basis. Also the family would like to extend a special thanks to First Baptist Church White Pine, our friends and family at Jefferson Park for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.

Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at First Baptist Church in White Pine with Pastor Brian Osborne officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of White Pine.
