Ray Sexton, age 82, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was a member of Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church in White Pine, TN. He was born in Panama City, FL to E.M. and Ruth Sexton. After graduating from Bay County High and marrying his high school sweetheart in 1961, he began working in a thrift store for Flowers Baking Company. After 43 years of service, he retired as plant president in Morristown, TN. In 2001 he and Carolyn opened White Pine Marine Sales and Service.

Ray now joins many cherished loved ones in our Eternal Home: beloved Carolyn, parents and brothers Coleman and Alfred, all of Panama City, FL; mother and father-in-law Austin and Carrie Pennington of White Pine; brother-in-law Steve Pennington of China Grove, NC and sister-in-law Sonja Wilson of White Pine. Through 56 years of marriage, he and Carolyn shared and instilled their strong faith, love and family with children Ken (Ginger) Sexton and Kim (Mark) Franklin; grandchildren, Mirranda (Bill) Humbard, Kayla (Wesley) Hickle, Carrie Ruth Franklin and Elijah Franklin; and great grandson River Humbard. He is also remembered by sisters Gwen (Wayne) Stanford of Lynn Haven, FL and Monty (Joe) Derrick of Little Mountain, SC; sisters-in-law Wyvon Sexton of Lynn Haven and Wanda Pennington of China Grove; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Leadvale Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 5-7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. Pastors Brandon Cate and Charlie Harkleroad will officiate. Graveside interment services will be Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in White Pine Cemetery.
