Evelyn Faye "Peggy" Wright Chandler

EVELYN FAYE “PEGGY” WRIGHT CHANDLER, age 79, of New Market, TN gained her wings on September 13, 2024 surrounded by her family. Peggy was a very community oriented person, even in death, still serving others by donating her body. She retired from Regions Bank after 45 years of service and was of the Methodist faith. Among her many accomplishments and contributions to others, while being an active community leader, included being a member of the Civitan Club, The Eastern Star, and the Chamber of Commerce. She was a devoted member of the Lions Club, where she held many positions. Her favorite and main part of the Lions Club was the Leo Club, to which she was devoted. She was also a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, a board member for Safe Space, and supporter of the Lions Eye Bank. She traveled the world over with family and friends. When asked what she did, she would reply that she raised registered angus cows. Preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Eula Adams Wright; siblings, Mary (Ed) Greene, Jean (Calvin) Swann, Johnny Wright and Gary Wright. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Thomas Chandler; son, Arnold (Bettina) Chandler; grandson, Hunter Chandler; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Special thanks by the family to the ICU nurses at Tennova Turkey Creek. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Farrar Funeral Home with Rev. Max Frye officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 a.m. Friday morning at Jefferson Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 a. m. graveside interment service.
