Ernest "Carroll" Rogers

Listen to Obituary

Ernest “Carroll” Rogers, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed from the loving circle of his family into the arms of his Lord and Savior on February 25, 2026. He was joyfully reunited with his parents, Paul and Lorene Rogers, and brother, Johnny Rogers.

Left behind to cherish his memory is the love of his life, devoted wife of 64 years, Iris “Ikey” Nelson Rogers; son, Chris (Mary Beth) Rogers; daughter, Missy Rogers; son, Jody (Alicia) Rogers; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jill) Rogers, Alex Rogers, Ashleigh Rogers, Christina Rogers, and Elizabeth Rogers.

Upon graduating from Jefferson High, Carroll attended Carson Newman College and was a member of the Air National Guard. He was a 25 year employee of UPS where he was admired and respected for his work ethic and sense of humor. He brought light and laughter into the day of everyone he met.

During his retirement, Carroll continued his generous and caring spirit by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity and donating his time to many activities at First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, where he was a faithful member for 50 years. He enjoyed an active retirement including vacations with family and friends, Sunday cookouts, spending time with his grandkids, working out, and riding his bike. He especially enjoyed weekly ballroom dancing with his beautiful wife and their great group of friends.

Carroll’s steadfast and lifelong devotion to his family was unmatched. His tender loving care to his beloved Ikey until the day the Lord called him home was a blessing and an example of pure love to those around him. He and Ikey created a Christian home environment with total love and support for each of their children and grandchildren.

Carroll’s family considered him to be the most wonderful husband, the greatest dad, granddad, and “Der-Der”, a #1 father-in-law, the funniest man in the world, a true “salt of the earth” role model, their best friend, and completely irreplaceable.

If you would like to honor Carroll’s memory, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or simply help someone in need.
