Mrs. Emma Jean Coulter Agent, of Jefferson City, TN and formerly of Columbia, Mississippi and Franklinton, Louisiana, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the age of 92. She was born on November 8, 1928 to Vester and Gettie Coulter in Collins, Mississippi. She retired from Carter and Mullins in Columbia, Mississippi, where she served as a secretary for many years. Emma Jean was a kind and gentle woman who was happiest when she was with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed helping others and volunteering at the church and the hospital after her retirement. She was a wonderful Christian woman who will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Agent; parents, Vester and Gettie Coulter; brother, Kenneth Coulter; sister, Marguerite Burleson; and granddaughter, Christy Bitzer.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Knight and husband Rusty of Franklinton, Louisiana; and Wanda Nicholson and husband Walter of Jefferson City, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Bryan Knight and wife Grace of New Orleans, Louisiana; Jason Knight and wife Heather of Covington, Louisiana; Laura Steele and husband Tony of Wake Forest, North Carolina; Kevin Keck of Knoxville, Tennessee; Abby Skeen and husband Tyler of Amman, Jordan; Phillip Bitzer, husband of the late Christy Bitzer; and two step grandsons, Mike Nicholson of Jefferson City, Tennessee; and John Nicholson and wife Beth of Maryville, Tennessee. She was also survived by great grandchildren Bailey, Carter, and Amelia Skeen; Megan and Madi Keck; Zoey, Colt, and River Steele; Samuel and Elijah Knight; Luke Bitzer; Ryder, Saylor, Rayne, and Finley Knight; and Emma Nicholson. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, Mississippi.
