In Loving Memory of David Whitaker
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of David Whitaker, age 66, of New Market, TN, who lost his battle with cancer on September 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Fort Sanders Hospital. David was a cherished brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and nephew. He was the beloved son of the late Betty Chambers and JB Whitaker, and a loving brother to Debra Jean Whitaker, who fondly remembers his surprise visits, always with a pastry in hand, willing to lend his mechanical wisdom and enjoying many holidays and special moments together. His bond with Vickie Whitaker was rooted in their shared love of cars and long conversations. Whether he was solving problems, offering a helping hand, or simply sharing a laugh, he made a lasting impact on those he worked with. His contributions were invaluable, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and hard work that will be felt for years to come. He was a loving uncle to Benjamin Stipes, BJ Whitaker, Stacy Whitaker, and Jesse Whitaker, offering his steady presence, heartfelt wisdom, and unwavering support. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel special, always putting others before himself. His love for his family was boundless, and his presence will be deeply missed by all. Outside of work and family, David found joy in working on cars, caring for horses, watching racing, and cheering on Tennessee football. These passions were a reflection of his vibrant personality and deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, and he will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, strength, and sense of humor.
