Charlotte Evelyn Franklin Hance

CHARLOTTE EVELYN FRANKLIN HANCE, age 76, of Dandridge, TN passed away Wednesday afternoon, July 26, 2017 following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Roberta Mott Franklin and was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Paul Franklin. Evelyn was a lifelong member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church where she had served in various positions. A 1958 graduate of Maury High School, she went on to receive her nursing degree from Ft. Sanders Presbyterian School of Nursing in 1962. After her graduation, she began her career as Public Health Nurse for the Jefferson Co Health Dept. which spanned over 30 years. Evelyn was a popular lady golfer in the East Tennessee golfing area who will be remembered as being a very talented player and competitor. She is survived by her husband, Bill Hance; daughters, Wendy Hance Hodge and husband, Greg, and Janet Hance Woods and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Christopher (Kristen) Hodge, Jonathan (Brooke) Hodge, Sarah (Will) Darby, Jason Woods and Adam Woods; great-grandson, Jon Luke Hodge; sisters, Betty Ruth Smelcer and Helen Franklin;several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, July 29th , 2017, 7:00pm at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason McIntosh officiating. Interment graveside services, Sunday, 2:00pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon and evening from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church prior to services.
